This course serves as a gentle and enjoyable introduction to the basics of Chinese brush painting in watercolours. Students will learn from step-by-step demonstrations and mindful painting exercises. Topics include bamboo, orchids, landscape and more! Lesson recordings are available to view for 7 days after each lesson for those who miss or wish to review a lesson. Materials: Sketchpad/sketchbook or loose pages of sketching/drawing paper. Approximately 9 x 12 inches or larger. We will learn using a lot of paper for this course, so sketchbook paper is suitable, such as cartridge, manilla, and/or newsprint paper, Pencil, sharpener, and eraser, Set of watercolours , Chinese watercolour brush. At least 1 medium sized brown-haired brush. (Size reference: A bit bigger than the diameter of a pencil.) If getting this brush is not possible at this time, an alternative is a Size 12 Round sable or soft synthetic hair watercolour brush. Optional: have other sizes, Paper towels or rags, paint palette (ceramic preferred), Containers for water, Optional: hair dryer, india ink.
