About this Course

Capture the quiet beauty of a Canadian winter in this acrylic painting workshop inspired by Group of Seven artist Lawren Harris and his iconic winter city scenes. We’ll explore bold shapes, colour, and the peaceful atmosphere of snow-covered streets. A creative way to celebrate the season—no experience needed! Lesson recordings are available to view for 7 days after each lesson for those who miss or wish to review a lesson. Offered online via Zoom with Dovercourt Recreation.  Materials: Pencil, Stretched Canvas or Canvas Board (approximately 8×10″ or larger), Acrylic paints (Red, Yellow, Blue, White and Black), Acrylic paint brushes (suggested: small and medium round brushes and one large flat brush), container of water, paper towels or rags, mixing palette, scrap paper the same size as your canvas, tape. Optional: hair dryer.
